Staff

Arrowhead is very proud of the dedication and commitment of its staff. Staff turnover is minimal. Professional development of staff is important at Arrowhead. Staff attends outside conferences and workshops and participates in in-house training.

Staff development is an on-going process at Arrowhead, as staff members take part in local and state workshops and training sessions pertaining to adolescents. The focus of staff development is on human growth and development, learning theories and its application to behavior and personality as it relates to adolescents.The on-going in-service training program is designed to familiarize staff with information and education as it pertains to issues with adolescents. Staff is certified in CPR and first aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention. Behavior management training (CPI) continues to be an integral part of the Arrowhead’s orientation training for new staff.

 

Arrowhead CEO: Angela Moody

Angela graduated from Bettendorf High School in Bettendorf, Iowa.  She went on to the University of Northern Iowa and received bachelor’s degree in Social Work.  She continued on to the University of Iowa to get a master’s in social work.  While completing her masters she did an internship with Arrowhead Ranch.  While working at Arrowhead, she continued with her education and received a second Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Drake University.

Ms. Moody’s work experience includes expertise in several
areas including: addictions, child welfare, medical social services, and mental
health services, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  She is a team leader and peer reviewer for the Council on Accreditation, a graduate from the Iowa Health System’s Community Leadership program and a Certified Facilitator from the National Curriculum and Training Institute in Colors and Cognitive Behavioral training.

Angela has been employed at Arrowhead since 2000.

Clinical Director: Telly Papanikolaou

Telly graduated from Rock Island High School in Rock Island, IL.  He attended Black Hawk College and Western Illinois University, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts with a Minor in Sociology.  He continued his studies to pursue a Master’s Degree in Counseling through Western Illinois University, Quad-Cities campus.  Telly’s work experience includes twenty years in the field of human services in the areas of child welfare and mental health counseling.  He is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Iowa.

Telly has been employed at Arrowhead since 2005

Intake Coordinator: Reina Reyes

Reina graduated from Rock Island High School in Rock Island, IL. She went on to the University of Southern Illinois where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Juvenile Justice with a specialization in Juvenile Delinquency and Crime Prevention.  After working in the social service field for almost 10 years Reina returned to school at St. Ambrose University to get a master’s in social work.  While obtaining her master’s degree she completed internships with Vera French Community Mental Health Center and Moline School District #40.

Ms. Reyes’s work experience includes expertise in several areas including: mental health, child welfare, quality improvement, education and corrections.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified School Social Worker.  She is a member of the School of Social Work Field Placement Advisory Board at St. Ambrose University.

Reina has been employed at Arrowhead since 1995.

Arrowhead Academy Principal: Russ Williams

Russ graduated from Nitro High School in Nitro, West Virginia.  He went to West Virginia University where he received a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in English.  He then attended Queen’s College in Charlotte, North Carolina where he earned his secondary teaching certification.  He also attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, where he earned his administrative certificate.

Mr. Williams’ experience includes working as a mainframe computer operator, teaching secondary English in Charlotte, North Carolina and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He also worked as a high school administrator for Milwaukee Public Schools, and he worked as a high school administrator in Iowa before coming to Arrowhead.

Russ has been employed at Arrowhead since 2010.
