Alternative to Suspension
The main objective of the Alternative to Suspension program is to prevent and deter future out of school suspensions. The youth served are boys and girls, ages 12-17 that have received an out of school suspension. Services provided to the youth include the following:
- Counseling on the issues that led to the suspension.
- Homework assistance and strategies to succeed within the classroom.
- Tour of the Arrowhead Ranch facility.
- Activity based curriculum to deter the youth from future out of school suspensions.
Requirements / Fees of the program: cost of the program is $35.00 per day and some scholarships are available. School must get approval from the students guardian before placement can be arranged.
