Education Programs
Educational services are provided on-campus at Arrowhead's private non-public special education school. As a self-contained special education program, Arrowhead is able to provide a student-teacher ratio of 6-1. All teachers are LBS-1 unlimited certified and are Highly Qualified by NCLB standards.
Arrowhead is approved by the Illinois State Board of Education as a residential school. Arrowhead is also accredited by the Council on Accreditation, and is licensed by DCFS as a Child Care Institution and a Child Welfare Agency.
Arrowhead's private school is able to provide the following services:
- 12-month schooling that allows for up to 10 credits per year
- Independent Learning System - a computer generated classroom using COMPASS software
- Title I reading program
- GED services
- State-of-the-art auto shop
- Wood shop
- A well-equipped, modular technology lab using LabVolt equipment
- Driver’s education
- State-wide team sports competitions through the Illinois Interagency Athletic Association
- ISAT and Prairie State Testing
- Academic testing using WRAT and Woodcock-Johnson III
- Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)
- Full-time clinically licensed school social worker
- Part-time school psychologist
