Educational services are provided on-campus at Arrowhead’s private non-public special education school. As a self-contained special education program, Arrowhead is able to provide a student-teacher ratio of 6-1. All teachers are LBS-1 unlimited certified and are Highly Qualified by NCLB standards.
Arrowhead is approved by the Illinois State Board of Education as a residential school. Arrowhead is also accredited by the Council on Accreditation, and is licensed by DCFS as a Child Care Institution and a Child Welfare Agency.
Arrowhead’s private school is able to provide the following services:
•12-month schooling that allows for up to 10 credits per year
•Independent Learning System – a computer generated classroom using COMPASS software
•Title I reading program
•GED services
•State-of-the-art auto shop
•Wood shop
•A well-equipped, modular technology lab using LabVolt equipment
•Driver’s education
•State-wide team sports competitions through the Illinois Interagency Athletic Association
•ISAT and Prairie State Testing
•Academic testing using WRAT and Woodcock-Johnson III
•Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)
•Full-time clinically licensed school social worker
•Part-time school psychologist
